With continuous rains affecting various parts of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister MK Stalin is set to chair a crucial review meeting with senior government officials to assess the state’s preparedness and response mechanisms.

The meeting, scheduled to take place at the Secretariat, will be attended by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister KKSSR Ramachandran, Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena, and other senior officials from the Public Works, Municipal Administration, and Police departments.
The agenda includes evaluating the current rainfall impact, preventive actions in vulnerable zones, relief camp readiness, and emergency response coordination. The Chief Minister is also expected to instruct district collectors to remain on high alert, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
With the state experiencing intermittent showers over the past few days due to weather disturbances, concerns have risen over potential flooding, especially in urban pockets like Chennai, Cuddalore, and Tirunelveli.
Officials from the Meteorological Department will also brief the CM on updated forecasts and possible escalation in rainfall intensity. Drainage clearance operations, tree pruning, and the availability of rescue teams are expected to be part of the discussion.
The state government has urged the public to stay updated through official channels and avoid venturing into waterlogged zones. Emergency helplines have been activated in all districts.
This meeting underscores the administration’s focus on proactive planning and immediate response to mitigate monsoon-related disruptions across Tamil Nadu.
